The Metasploit Framework is provided under the 3-clause BSD license. This license is designed to keep the source code of the Framework open and encourage contributions and reuse. Not all of the software inside the Framework package is under this license, as many components are provided under GPL, Ruby, LGPL, or other open-source licenses.
