Adobe IndesignServer 5.5 SOAP Server Arbitrary Script Execution

Disclosed

Description

This module abuses the "RunScript" procedure provided by the SOAP interface of Adobe InDesign Server, to execute arbitrary vbscript (Windows) or applescript (OSX). The exploit drops the payload on the server and must be removed manually.

Module Options

To display the available options, load the module within the Metasploit console and run the commands 'show options' or 'show advanced':

msf > use exploit/multi/misc/indesign_server_soap
msf exploit(indesign_server_soap) > show targets
    ...targets...
msf exploit(indesign_server_soap) > set TARGET < target-id >
msf exploit(indesign_server_soap) > show options
    ...show and set options...
msf exploit(indesign_server_soap) > exploit

Time is precious, so I don’t want to do something manually that I can automate. Leveraging the Metasploit Framework when automating any task keeps us from having to re-create the wheel as we can use the existing libraries and focus our efforts where it matters.
