Description

This module exploits a directory traversal vulnerability on Agnitum Outpost Internet Security 8.1. The vulnerability exists in the acs.exe component, allowing the user to load arbitrary DLLs through the acsipc_server named pipe, and finally execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. This module has been tested successfully on Windows 7 SP1 with Agnitum Outpost Internet Security 8.1 (32 bits and 64 bits versions).

Module Options

To display the available options, load the module within the Metasploit console and run the commands 'show options' or 'show advanced':

msf > use exploit/windows/local/agnitum_outpost_acs
msf exploit(agnitum_outpost_acs) > show targets
    ...targets...
msf exploit(agnitum_outpost_acs) > set TARGET < target-id >
msf exploit(agnitum_outpost_acs) > show options
    ...show and set options...
msf exploit(agnitum_outpost_acs) > exploit

Time is precious, so I don’t want to do something manually that I can automate. Leveraging the Metasploit Framework when automating any task keeps us from having to re-create the wheel as we can use the existing libraries and focus our efforts where it matters.
